WHELEN CORE, DUO DVI PATTERN PROGRAMMING

For those of us who work with Whelen, specifically in the Core program, it can be frustrating that there is no manual on how to accomplish our ideas. My goal with this post and those to follow is to help others out there with guidance on how to perform certain tasks within Core and other programs to accomplish goals.

So, DUO DVI. It isn’t a pattern in the drop-down menu, but it keeps popping up on the streets in videos and in real life. How are these other outfitters programming a DUO pattern without a DUO pattern?

Let’s walk through it, step by step.

Step one select your lights, emphasis on the plural lights we want all of them selected.

Step two select the pattern, DUO will only work with single flash day 60 and 75. Anything slower, simmer, or night will cause the colors to bleed on top of each other showing a combo color (for red and blue it makes them look purple).

Step three, once all the light colors are set to the same pattern, select one color. For a DUO Ion in red, blue set both colors to say single flash 75. Then select just the red outputs. With the outputs selected, set the phase to 180.

Step four, double-check your work. Make sure one color is phased at 180 but both colors are on the same pattern single flash 60 or 75 day!

To recap”

·       Select two colors you want to alternate on the same light head.

·       Set the pattern to DVI single flash 60 or 75 DAY.

·       Choose one of the colors on each light head and set the phase to 180.

You are all set your light will now display DUO DVI!
